Irish Wedding
Having a cheap but cheerfull Irish wedding at home, can anyone suggest some nice simple ideas/frills?
Really just looking for some simple ideas that would make the reception at home more pleasant. For example someone told us to have someone waiting at the door with a glass of champagne for people arriving from church. Nice touches like that. All suggestions welcome.
Any Irish dancers around that you could ask to do a little performance? At one website (link in source) they suggest an Irish dancer in a traditional dress to greet people at the door (or hand out programs).
Decorate the house in Irish colors.
Have a “pot of gold” with a leprechaun (doll) as a wedding card holder or to serve punch in it. Not both though 
I also like the idea of wreaths of wild flowers. If the bride prefers to wear a tiara, you could still use them as decoration.
Do you have a celtic blessing?
